Executive Coaching
As the Beatles so famously informed the world, “We get by with a little help from our friends.” This adage applies in business just as much in our personal lives. We don’t stop being human when we pass the doors into our workplace.
Whether it’s the need for an accountability partner to keep you on track with the tasks you know you should be doing already or having a trusted mentor who can teach you new skills, Adolphus Consulting Group can help you with your Executive Coaching needs. We use a phased approach for Coaching engagements.
First, we undertake a thorough assessment of the individual Executive. This includes using tools such as the Myers-Briggs Typology Indicator (MBTI) which assesses the individual’s personality type, the Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation (FIRO-B) which assesses the individual’s interpersonal needs and how those needs influence their communication style and behavior, the Thomas-Kilman Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) which assesses the individual’s conflict resolution styles, and various 360 degree evaluations.
Second, we take the results of the initial assessments and conduct an in-depth one-on-one feedback session with the Executive. During this feedback session, we will identify any key issues which should be mitigated and the Executive’s unique strengths which are to be accentuated. At Adolphus, we believe it is important to identify weaknesses and strengths in order to fully develop an Executive. Just like a poor investment, putting too much emphasis on turning a weakness into a strength wastes valuable time and energy. The ROI isn’t there. So, we help identify key weaknesses and the detrimental effects those weaknesses have on the organization. Then, we develop methods of mitigating the harmful effects so that the Executive can focus on what he does best – his strengths. In collaboration with the Executive and his superiors, Adolphus will create a unique coaching plan which will include objective measurements of success.
Then, based on the established plan, Adolphus will work with the Executive on a continuing basis to assist with completing the plan. During this phase, the Executive will be expected to participate in bi-weekly meetings with his coach and undertake many assignments aimed at executing the plan’s goals.
